Loading... Please wait...The human race is virtually looking for a residence on places other than earth. This is testimony to fact as to how advanced has technology become and how gravely does it affect our life. Newer and newer technologies are always being invented so as to make life as comfortable as possible. The projector industry is also not oblivious to newer technological advancements. The DLP technology is also one of the very few technologies which has revolutionized the way projectors have been always. And we, along with our dealers located in Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Navi Mumbai and Thane, India, are committed to bring to you the latest in projectors at of course, cheap prices!
DLP technology actually stands for digital light processing technology. It is a trademark owned by Texas Instruments and was developed in 1987 by Dr. Larry Hornback of Texas Instruments. The single-chip DLPs and the 3LCD are the two main technologies used in modern color digital technologies. DLP is also used extensively in digital cinema and movie projection. Now that we have had a fair idea about what DLP actually is, we will move on to the question which needs to be asked-How is a DLP projector better than an LCD projector? Well, technically an LCD projector starts with a source of light and that light gets split into three beams which further pass on through individual LCD panels. Whereas a DLP projector also starts with a source of light, but instead of passing through an LCD panel, it passes through a DLP chip which has hundreds of mirrors on it. The advantages of DLP Projectors are that it offers smoother videos and the box is also relatively small. Also, the pixels are far less visible which should not a problem if the projector is used in offices and corporates. Also, the pictures that an DLP generates is more lifelike and more real as compared to a LCD. Also, DLP projectors are known to give higher contrasts. Now we will have a look at the disadvantages of a DLP projector. The rainbow effect which a DLP generates is known to bother some users. Also, a DLP projector is physically larger, even for the same number of lumens. Moreover, a DLP projector needs more lumens than LCD, for rich colors, when dealing with ambient light. Now we will move on to have a look at the pros and cons of LCD Projectors. These projectors throw less heat. There is no color filter wheel and thus, the rainbow effect, too, is avoided. Also, the LCD projector is slightly quieter and generates seemingly sharper image as compared to an LCD projector. However, the problems with LCD projectors is that the pixels are more visible and another major problem is that black comes out lighter gray as compared to DLP Projectors.
We have tried to give you a true and fair view of both-the DLP and LCD technology. Hence, we had recommend that after making an informed decision as to what you must buy, you must contact us with regards to the features and the prices of the projectors.
